سکتور فیزیکی و منطقی

امروز قصد دارم یک مطلب در مورد اندازه ی سکتور های هارد دیسک ها بگذارم که برای استفاده و انتشار گسترده تر مجبور هستم انگلیسی تایپ کنم

Today I wanted to mirror a hard on another hard (from Disk management in windows 7 that explain in continuous).

When I done all works for mirroring I had this error “All disks holding extents for a given volume must have the same sector size” and in this post I want to explain solution:

This problem occur because I used two hard with two different physical sector size (512 byte per sector and 4096 byte per sector or in another name Advanced Format). Windows can’t mirror two hard with two different physical sector size. According to mirroring steps that must be done on unallocated space, so this difference is in physical size, not logical size but you can check your logical sector size for each partition with this command in cmd: wmic partition get BlockSize, StartingOffset, Name, Index that BlockSize is logical sector size.

But what is logical and physical sector size?! Logical sector size is sector size of each partition that can be change when you make a new volume. But physical sector size is the size of disk sector that can’t be change because is a hardware characteristic and set by company for each hard.

So my solution is changing hard disk...

Another point is mirroring way: you must first choose an unallocated space for mirroring and change hard with this part to dynamic and with right click on your intended part for mirroring and choose add mirror item.
